Icat s.r.l. started in 1974 with the aim of producing glues and adhesives for all industrial applications.
At the end of 1970 the first plant for the production of hot melt adhesives was started up and today it represents the core business of the company. The eighties / nineties were characterized by the installation of three new lines for the production of hot-melt adhesives, by the doubling of the production capacity of water-based adhesives and by the acquisition in 1993 of 100% of the capital of Thermocol sa. of Barcelona (Spain). In 2000 has been started the production of polyurethane adhesives in dispersion and solventless, mono and bicomponent, and a new productionline for psa hot-melt adhesives for the hygiene sector, unique in terms of size and technology, was installed. Today the news in the product range is represented by reactive hot melt polyurethane adhesives for bookbinding, assembly, wood and textile industry.
